Where people were unable to clear the pavements, the safest option was to walk in the road. What a pity motorists - we’re all right, the roads have been salted - didn’t show some consideration. It is no fun trying to negotiate the safest route, and to have cars and lorries belting along the only safe place was at times frightening.
