Hide AdRegions are placed in tiers predominantly based on their infection rate, namely how many people are infected, per 100,000 of the population, per week.
Currently all of Sussex sits in tier one and every local authority has an infection rate below the national average, which stands at 123/100,000.
Some areas, such as Adur and Rother, have some of the lowest infection rates in the country.
Here are the infection rates, according to Public Health England, for the week October 14-20, as well as the total numbers of cases as of Friday (October 23):

A total of 854,010 people have now tested positive for coronavirus across the United Kingdom, rising by 23,012 yesterday (October 24).
