A Coastguard rescue helicopter was called out to assist a police search off the coast at Selsey.

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency said it was alerted around 2.30pm on Saturday (December 17) to an incident in West Sussex.

Rescue teams from Selsey, Littlehampton and Hayling assisted Sussex Police officers with a search, the agency said on Sunday afternoon.

They were joined by two lifeboats from Selsey and the HM Coastguard helicopter based at Lydd.
