Nothing new under the sun for Andy
I wonder, did he set out to become an apothecary because of his name, and does he come from a long line of apothecaries?
I know there are many folk with names the same as their professions, the most unusual of which was a Mrs Gotobed who was a bed manager at a local hospital!

Editor's note: we were also intrigued by Andy's surname, so we asked him for some more background.
He told us: "We have gone right back through my family, and as far as we can tell, I am the first pharmacist.
"When I was doing A levels, my dad jokingly suggested I should become a pharmacist, with a name like ours.

Hide Ad"Then, in my first year at university, there was a module on the history of pharmacists, and I learned that the original apothecary developed into what are now GPs.
"They started doing the same job as a pharmacist, but evolved away from prescribing and more into medicine.
"It's almost come full circle now, with pharmacists giving people more medical advice, and taking some work over from doctors."
