Why are there not roundabouts?
Can I ask who in the East Sussex highways department decided to put T-junctions and traffic lights at each end?
This foolish and potentially dangerous design will cause traffic to queue at the lights at each end resulting in fast traffic suddenly finding these queues ahead!

They had the space and opportunity. I can think of no other link or bypass anywhere in the UK that does not have a roundabout at the start and end of such a road.
