Reader letter: 'I was stunned and appalled at Chichester shop's Halloween display'

I was stunned and appalled to see nooses hanging in the Halloween display of the window of a respected charity shop in Chichester.

One noose had been placed around the neck of a witch. At my insistence the manager reluctantly agreed to modify the display, initially unwilling to run the risk of offending the volunteers who assembled it.

Apparently there had been no other negative comments, and the creativity of the display had generally been praised.
