A B&Q spokesperson said: “We can confirm that our Bexhill store was temporarily closed on Thursday following a team member receiving a positive (Covid 19) test result.
“Closing the store for deep cleaning is a precautionary measure and goes beyond government advice. The store has since reopened.”
A member of staff said he returned to the store after carrying out a store-to-home delivery on January 14 to find it closed, without being told.
He said he was initially told it was shut due to ‘technical difficulties’ which were affecting the tills, before he was informed that a member of staff had tested positive for the virus.
