Person dies after being hit by a train near Horsham

British Transport Police were called to the line near the town at 9.39am on Saturday May 1 following reports of a casualty on the tracks, a spokesman said.

Southern Rail said a person had been hit by a train between Horsham and Arundel.

The police spokesman added: “Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the corner.”
