Sussex commuters face problems as strike closes London tube
This means there will be no tube services until end of service today.
Transport for London is running extra bus and river services to help people to get around but all routes are expected to be much busier than usual, especially at peak times.

Hide AdNational Rail routes will be unaffected mostly, although some services are expected to be busier than usual.
Transport for London says: “We’ve put around 250 extra buses on the roads to help Londoners get around today.
“Our travel ambassadors and volunteers are at bus stations and hubs to provide customers with travel information and advice on the ground.
“Buses are expected to be very busy and customers are asked to be patient with the transport staff who are at work and trying to help them get around.

Hide Ad“Customers able to change their travel time are strongly advised to travel outside peak hours on Thursday. If that’s not possible, please allow more time for your journey.
“Buses do not accept cash. Please use your contactless payment card, Oyster or bus pass. Contactless is the same fare as Oyster. You can top up your Oyster pay as you go credit or buy Travelcards and bus & tram passes at around 4,000 shops across London.
“Customers without an Oyster or contactless card wishing to use buses only can purchase a One Day Bus and Tram Pass for £5 from any Oyster Ticket Stop or Visitor Information Centre.
