Work to start in A272
The works are being broken down into five sites to minimise disruption.
The improvements will take place along the following sections and will include:
A272 Section 1: Hampshire Boundary to Midhurst
Upgraded warning signs along the route

Application of high friction surfacing on New Bridge and its approaches to reduce skidding
Derek Whittington, West Sussex County Council's Cabinet Member for Strategic Planning and Transport, said: "In three years up to the end of June 2008, there were 97 accidents along these routes, which resulted in 129 casualties. That is why this work is needed and we are investing so heavily in it."
The scheme will take four months to complete, weather permitting.

Hide AdDuring the works, traffic control will be used at various times. This will on occasions involve temporary road closures for short spells. Temporary signs will be put out prior to the closures to warn motorists.
