Are you a hole-in-one hero?

IT'S something all golfers dream of – whether they're a seasoned pro or a complete novice.
But it's something that relatively few ever achieve.
A hole in one.
And our search for local golfers who have sunk an ace is well under way.
For the second year running, we have teamed up with Chichester Golf Club to salute the hole-in-one heroes.
Our competition will see everyone who enters a verified hole in one be rewarded with a sleeve of Wilson golf balls.
And they will all be invited to our final – a nearest-the-pin competition at the signature 15th hole at Chichester's Cathedral course.
The winner of that will go home with a super Ping putter – and as the head greenkeeper Paul Misslebrook explained, they will have to earn the reward.
"It presents a fairly unique challenge," he said.
"If you get on the green from your tee shot, you are okay. If not, you are in trouble.
"If you go too far to the left you can hit the rocks and your ball can easily go in the river. Or there's every chance of finding a bunker.
"It has been known for players to find the bunker on one side of the green, then hit their next shot into the bunker on the other side."
To enter, you need to live in the Observer circulation area. Your ace counts on whichever course you hit it and whether in competition or a round with friends.
Your playing card must be verified by a playing partner and by the host club. You must send us your card with a covering letter of endorsement from your club.
Tell us where you hit your ace, which hole it was on and what club you used. Write to Hole In One Competition, Observer Series, Unicorn House, 8 Eastgate Square, Chichester, PO19 1JN.
