Hide AdHis creative opponent Chris Mason showed his potential when he attempted to close the gap by producing a 31 break, however, he was unable to stop the marauding Martin progressing to a 200-105 victory.
The Middies stalwart Martin Payne was up against the renowned Richie Barrett, it was nip and tuck in the early stages until Barrett moved up a gear to take the frame 200-123. The host’s skipper Ian Janman made a determined attempt to stop the mighty Mick Lott scoring more than 131, the jaunting Janman maintained a healthy lead throughout but to find the lively Lott fluently building a 34 break which restricted Janman winning by 200-146, the match was well marshalled by referees Dennis Wakeford and Maurice Wickens.
