EASTBOURNE Speedway's season suffered a double blow in three days.On Monday, Adam Shields was seriously injured in a track crash in Poland and on Wednesday news came that No.1 Nicki Pedersen is to enter hospital for an operation.

During meetings he is often seen with ice-packs on his arms to ease the pain.
